With 2020 Approaching, Remember to Check Insurance Benefits
For those who have a health insurance plan, many will also have a separate dental insurance plan that comes with specific benefits.
Most dental insurance plans will renew benefits as of January 1. So whatever you have unused as of December 31, you technically lose.
If you have a $1,500 max on the insurance, and you haven’t used all of it, that means you have until the end of the year to use it.
This is a great time to get in and have any last-second cleanings in. Pediatric Dental Associates and Orthodontics has some limited appointments available the week before Christmas.
A lot of families also have flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, and sometimes those benefits run out at the end of the year. Or they have to be emptied out. You can use your HSA or FSA card to purchase electric toothbrushes as gifts at PDAO.
If you use your FSA or HSA accounts to purchase a toothbrush from PDAO, the clinic can provide receipts for your insurance companies if required.
For kids toothbrushes, they have The Little Mermaid and Olaf from Frozen. These brushes are good up to age eight and even as late as 10. After that, you’ll want to switch to an adult electric toothbrush.
Pediatric Dental Associates and Orthodontics has two models of adult electric toothbrushes, the Oral B Genius, which sells for $79.99. And it also has the Oral B Genius 9600, which is a brand new model not available in many retailers.
Insurance policies are different depending on who you work for and what company your policy is with. So check your plan outline to see when plans renew. While most plans renew on January 1, some exceptions exist, like schools that operate from June to June.
PDAO encourages customers to shop local. The clinic is locally owned and operated and has been around for 20 years.
